Richard Lipkin
For years, we, along with most members of the New York/New Jersey/Connecticut tango community, have relied on Richard Lipkin's tango page for comprehensive and up-to-date information. We are very sorry to hear of Richard's passing.
I never met Richard, but I spoke to him many times and always found him interested, helpful and friendly. He performed a great service for the tango community and did it quietly and with efficiency.
I am glad that his
web page (http://newyorktango.com) will continue to be updated.

Message from Reuven Freuman(NewYorkTango@yahoogroups.com)
Dear New York Tangueros and Tangueras, It's
with a great sadness that I convey the message I received this morning - Richard Lipkin, the creator of the GUIDE TO ARGENTINE TANGO IN NEW YORK CITY site (http://newyorktango.com) passed away Sunday morning. He was a pillar of the Tango community since the early days of Tango in NY. He was a DJ, an information center, a dancer. He was my friend... and friend of many of you. He is now resting in peace after prolonged illness. His funeral will be at Sinai Chapels in Fresh Meadows, 162-05
Horace Harding Expy, Fresh Meadows, NY on Tuesday at 2 pm. If you want to attend, they ask to please arrive before 1:15. His website will continue as is, updated by a volunteer
Tanguera. It will continue as a cornerstone to his legacy. If you are an Tango event organizer who used to send information to Richard personally, please send it from now on to info@newyorktango.com Thank you, Reuven Freuman |
