Our December 19th, 23rd Kick-Off Milonga "Debut" was "the place to be" for over 70 plus Tangueros and Tangueras that packed the dance floor!

So many classy ladies and gallant gentlemen packed the house. Again!

At Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga II, we are proud of our diverse crowd of people in steady attendance.

Tango is a journey of self discovery and we are in good company getting there together.

Dancing Tango may not be your thing yet, but we are a fun place to hang out, people watch, chat, eat, drink and socialize on a Thursday night. Invite your friends.

Just come over to mingle and enjoy good people. Our doors are open to everyone!

Here is what happened:

* We had lucky door prize winners too; Judy, Nancy, Ruben, Norma, Flo, Charles, and Tom. They got away with all the loot.

* Guest DJ "Ragin Richard Ariza" brought to us his great playlist featuring the most talented artist, new and traditional styles. We all enjoyed the nice mix of sultry, romantic, music.

* Our guest instructors, Karena Romero and Jorge Cardona entertained us with a bold and passionate performance that embodied the spirit, sensuality, and allure that makes Tango so addictive. Elegantly done.

* Marie and Francis danced their anniversary Tango together at the center of the dance floor all to themselves. "The stars filled the sky, except for the few, that were there in your eyes." So romantic.

Our Brand is Building:

Impeccable courtesy is the mark of a well seasoned Tanguero/Tanguera. It is just as important as your technical skill. I am hearing wonderful compliments about you all and how others notice it also.

At a glance, when they determine that you must be from Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga II, I just love to claim those bragging rights.

New Stuff:

I have a talented and fun line up of guest DJs to finish up 2019 with a lot of fun and magical sounding music to keep us on our toes.

Watch out for my next monthly message: "Terri's Tango Tutor" under separate email. It is a good conversation starter, tid-bits and trivia, some history, some fun, some videos, to increase our knowledge and topics for chit-chat.

Our guest Instructor: Sylvana Brizuela-Weigel will bring us her style of Argentine Tango. She will share her prose and posture, and most of all, what I want to emphasize is...Tango attitude.

Our guest DJ will be "Cool Carlos" Sampaleyo. He will keep us on the dance floor without any commercial breaks.

Continued honorable mention to the folks who contributed to our tasty snack table. Your good will and consideration for others is so refreshing. You re all so wonderfully thoughtful.

Barbie brought the hot, good, classic movie Popcorn! please pass the popcorn! Rumor is Mattel will be introducing Tango Barbie with popcorn maker included. Just a rumor. We have the original.

Henry brought a delicious assortment of tempting chocolate cookies.. evil man.

Francis and Marie brought barbeque Chicken, Shrimp and Ribs. They topped it off with a sinfully sumptuous chocolate cake.

Flo brought a finger licking good sweet dessert roll. Bridget brought grilled vegetables to keep us healthy. Bob Brillo brought us strawberry and whipped cream cake that makes you go ummmmm. Stephanie brought potato and apple sauce, just like momma used to make.

Your favorite dish can be added either to the snack table or hot buffet That is always appreciated.

Not to forget those top shelf wines:

Barbara (Barbie), Bill Auer, Kenneth Wachtell, Al & Lilian, Nancy Gerardi, Francis & Marie, Bob Brillo and Eduardo.

They are the bearers of the fruit of the vine, the nectar of Bacchus, jungle juice, Tango fuel... they keep the good times flowing. wink, wink, wink.

We appreciate all of our really big-hearted friends who are always there for us, who give so freely of themselves, rain or shine:

The invaluable, un-expendable, in-exhaustible, renowned; Steve Turi, Barbara (Barbie) and Bob Brillo, Tsapora and Judy. You're the best! Love you all. Many hands lighten the load.

For safety reasons, avoid leaving spillables under the chairs or anywhere near the dance floor, so I do not slip and fall again. I don't fall so good.

Every Thursday you may look forward to:

COMPLETE BUFFET DINNER!

BEGINNER LESSON: 7:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.,taught by Guest Instructors to be announced. INTERMEDIATE LESSON: 8:00 p.m. to 8:45. MILONGA: 9:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. with the friendliest tango crowd around!

Meet us at the Maywood Columbian Club every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m. for an evening of Argentine Tango with a sprinkling of Latin and swing.

The Beginner lesson begins promptly at 7:00 p.m. and the Intermediate lesson is at 7:45 p.m. (It's OK to come a bit early to warm up and get ready.) The Milonga follows from 9:00 p.m. to 11:15 p.m.

Enjoy our tasty buffet and sumptuous dessert, also you are welcome to bring food and wine if you'd like.

$15 at the door includes both beginner and intermediate lessons, thereafter the Milonga; cheese/dips / chips/ and other goodies on the snack table, the hot buffet, dessert and refreshments.

Dress code suggestion is classy, sassy, dignified, but please, no shorts or jeans and for your own safety, no flip flops. Be mindful how my landlord frowns on maring the wood floors.
