TERRI's FIREHOUSE TANGO-MILONGA II
Terri's TANGO HAIKU:
"Tango is an art form, passion is the paint, music are the colors, the dance floor is the canvass, and each of you are the Picasso of your own Dibujo." ~ Terri's Haiku
MESSAGE FROM TERRI:
Dear Friends and Members:
We are winning our fight in mitigating the spread of this menace. Thank God.
If we spread anything, it will be our deep passion for Tango and our genuine affection for each other.
Recall with me for a moment just why we are more than a club. We are a family and a community.
Just like it takes two to tango, so also it takes two for a relationship, a friendship, a family and community. Our years together finds us on the same "ship" together.
We have shared joys, pain and loss, good health and challenges. I'll never forget how so many of you shared my grief and pain to help me endure the greatest loss of my life.
That is who we are and we must preserve it. No microbe will ever destroy that as long as we maintain our bonds of friendship and love. We take care of each other.
This will pass as in the course of biology and nature. The virus will die out. What we must do is purge our anxieties and fear that it does not dominate our will and take over our life style for fear and doubt.
Apparently, the State will open up sooner than we thought. Looking to the near future when we will hang out at Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga together with relief, joy and thankfulness.
There is a light at the end of the tunnel, so until the all clear, we will share our Tango experiences and friendship with one another here.
WHAT'S NEXT:
In anticipation of the all clear here is what we can look forward to:
I've already began planning for our return "kick-off". It will be stupendous. It will be a reunion and inauguration all-in-one.
1. We will welcome new members and others who found us searching for Tango while on "house arrest."
2. I have lined up an eclectic string of talent to share their skills and craft with us all.
3. Music and Instructors and Performances that will invigorate, inspire, and captivate the allure we experience along side each other.
4. I will unveil the secret to our success. We are all nurtured by the chemistry we share with each other. There is no replication only imitation.
So, until then, each Thursday night, let's commit to play these videos and listen to the music for a brief time, that we may keep our tradition alive.
Join me in defiance of any that would have the temerity to presume we will seek out our passion for life, music and Tango elsewhere.
Meet you all here, until we embrace again soon. Just click on the links.
TANGO ATTITUDE IS TANGO LATITUDE:
As you know, Tango is both defiance and submission set to music. We will remain resilient together. This too shall pass. We will be restored to our dancing, laughing, and fun times soonest possible. Be flexible, as in Tango, sometimes the lead goes left and next to the right. Follow the music where it leads.
I encourage us all to refuse to submit to the emotional hysteria and reserve our faculties of critical thinking, rational logic and commonsense reasoning.
PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE:
Here are some practical survival skills you may already know of: [Learn something new]
hide from it. No battle or fight was ever won on defense alone. There must always be on offense. Here is the product list the EPA says is readily available and what we have been using along anyway:
3. Virologist teach us that no matter what, there is not a microbe or virus that lives forever. A virus is a microbe cell that has a nucleic acid center wrapped in a protein wall. The wall is breached with enzymes found in citric acids, hydrogen peroxides, sodium oxides, among others found in vitamins, minerals and fresh health foods.
4. Survival skills teach us prevention is worth more than the cure. Hiding is not a prevention. You kill it at the source. To prevent the virus from entering the respiratory system is to stop the contaminant at the source; nose and mouth. So, if you put a coating of medicated ointments like vicks, vasoline, even lip balm inside your nostrils and on your lips, it acts like fly-paper. Aerosol or airborne particles, microbes will
stick to it and not enter your lungs, and it dies. If you swallow it, it goes to your stomach and dies in the stomach acids.
5. The Immune System works in your own body to detect and hunt down invading infections, virus and bacteria and kill it. They create the antibodies that destroy the pathogens from which scientist derive vaccines. We get sick when the immune system is weak. We are healthy when the immune system is strong. Does not take medical school to take the steps at our age to boost your immune system.
Know the difference between alienation and so-called social distancing. Remember there is a difference between infection and contagion. You cannot spread what you do not have. If you feel sick. Stay home. If you are healthy, you can spread health just as well too.
We will buddy check up on our friends by using the many communication devices in our hands. We'll not succumb to fear. We will exercise reasonable and prescribed precaution. There is no fear in Tango. You all know how to contact me.
