More Thunderstorm warnings or threats of torrential rain couldn't stop our Milongueros and Milongueras from our second Kick-Off. I thank you all.
Next time, if we see Noah and the animals walk in one by one or two by two, then we know we are in big trouble, so just keep dancing.
Our guest instructor was Karina Romero. She and her partner, Jorge were simply amazing. What went over extremely well is that her teaching style was simple, inviting, friendly, and so much fun that the time flew by... again! We'll have to put on the timer for you people, otherwise it will go on to last call.
Karina's birthday dance performance was a stunner. Her dress was elegant and their Tango was so hot that it broke the Air-Conditioner. Afterwards, the men queued up outside the door, into the parking lot, and across the street. Well gentlemen, thank you for your enthusiasm.
Ladies, next week Karina will bring us dresses and shoes, offered to us at a discount, limited supply, so we get first choice.
Exclusively for our Firehouse Tango-Milonga II participants, she will provide private lessons. Call for an appointment: 1 646 342-9910
The Milonga began by featuring the charming sounds of traditional tango spun by DJ Sue D. We were wrapped up in the embrace way beyond ll:15PM, until the "Cumparsita" signaled lights out.
Our 3rd Kick Off continues next Thursday, 25th of July. Rain or shine, or 'zombie apocalypse' our Milongueros and Milongueras will not be stopped, we will keep on dancing.
Our surprise guest DJ will be the awesome Tango spin master Richard Ariza.
Permit me to again, take this moment to sincerely express my deepest heartfelt appreciation to all who braved inclement weather, AGAIN, to ensure the success of our second Kick-Off. Hope to see you at our 3rd Kick-Off and our 40th too. You're all simply amazing.
