To all of our First-Timers, All-Timers, and Future -Timers.
We have experienced thunderstorms, hurricanes, flash floods and more, but that has not stopped us to continue our journey to Tango.
Big thanks go out to all of our die-hard supporters who are simply unstoppable. You are the best!
Let's give a round of applause to my dedicated assistant Tibor Csokasi, who is the first face you see when you enter. In addition to being our "Keeper of the Gate", he renders superb Tech support all the time. Take a bow Sir!
Our instructors Analia Carreno and Luis Ramirez consistently welcome you all with a warm and beautiful greeting that gets us off to a wonderful start every Thursday night.
I just love how defiantly all of you tell this bad weather; "We are the storm!"
Our continued journey to Argentine Tango will not be stopped by some iddy-biddy rain clouds.
A lot of credit goes to our very own faithful team of champions whose reliability give each of you the assurance that no matter what we will be here ready to Tango.
Together, we all keep this Milonga so lively, fun and steamy like no other around.
You all are what makes Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga 2.... "The place to be every Thursday night!"
I thank you for your support and loyalty.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT :
I prepare the full combination of Tango spirit, fine music, professional instruction, live entertainment, beautiful glimmering hardwood dance floor, spacious venue, dancing Al-Fresco on our outdoor deck, dim-lit romantic ambiance, snack table, ample parking, convenient location that is about15 minutes from the GW Bridge, gallant gentlemen, elegant ladies, and a passion
that electrifies everyone upon entry.
Also, we are the place where "Tango Etiquette" is ever present.
RECOGNITION REPORT:
Luis Ramirez who is our Instructor together with Analia Carreno, also DJ'd for us.
His energetic playlist coupled with his electric personality had everyone on their feet dancing the night away.
There was no shortage of compliments about his command of music and inspiring Tandas that kept us dancing till lights out.
We had a great time celebrating Luis Ramirez's birthday.
The ladies lined up to for the birthday dance. Analia kicked it off and the dance continued on with his two beautiful princesses, Milena and Olivia.
Thank you Luis for being such a fun and great sport. Celebrating birthdays with a cut in dance is such a fun time for all of us.
Plan your next birthday celebration on over and dance Tango with us.
At Terri's Firehouse Tango-Milonga II, our ladies simply ooze class. Our gentlemen are gallant and exceedingly engaging.
We are the place where Tango Etiquette is natural and follows our members wherever they go.
We prove it every time. Despite these challenging times, our quality outshines quantity every time.
Music and laughter are the sounds filling the air every Thursday night we enjoy most. We have a fun loving crowd. Bring a friend and invite anyone who has not tried us out yet.
Evidently, Imitation is the fondest form of flattery.
We add adobo and sofrito to spice up our Tandas. Our Tandas always include a variety of Salsa, Mambo, Merengue and social style dance to keep you on the floor. Yet, we consistently remain loyal to our roots.
Remember, here is where we always keep traditional Argentine Tango alive!
All skill levels are taught by Analia Carreno and Luis Ramirez every Thursday from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM. We try to start the class on time and give those of you who want to take the group lesson time to settle in.
NEW STUFF:
I have included terminology, history, and factoids to expand your Tango knowledge.
Tango is not only about learning steps, but understanding and listening to the music.
Each artist interprets the same music /song that you dance to, but the musical styles are different.
Your ear, needs to listen so that you can dance to each interpretation from those artists elegantly.
It is written all over the place that the best way to improve your dancing is to know the music you are dancing to as your body moves with the different styles, so that you may look and be lead gracefully on the dance floor. ("you are not robots")
TANGO TERMS In Buenos Aires "ll" or y" is pronounced "zh" almost an English "j
a "qu"sounds like the "c" in cat;
a "z" is pronounced like "c:'
Tango steps:
Llevada:(yay-vah-dah) from llevar--to transport ; to carry, to take. Occurs when the man uses the upper thigh or foot to "carry" the lady's leg to the next step.
Courtesy Corner: Common courtesy, good manners and tango etiquette always go a long way in making and keeping friends. What happens at Terri's Firehouse Tango - Stays in Terri's Firehouse Tango!
